(thepostmillennial)Seventeen days after pandemic restrictions were lifted in TX, new cases are still decreasing rapidly.

TX Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted on Friday night:

“Today Texas recorded the lowest 7-day Covid positivity rate since that data began being calculated: 5.43%. We also recorded the largest daily number of vaccines administered to Texans: 342,849. More Texans getting vaccines will keep down the positivity rate. Always voluntary.”

According to Fox News, President Joe Biden is not happy about TX’s plan to roll back lockdown measures:

Biden said, “We’ve been able to move that all the way up to the end of May to have enough [vaccines] for every American, to get every adult American to get a shot. The last thing we need is the Neanderthal thinking.”

Meanwhile, the US as a whole had seven percent more cases this week than last week, according to the CDC.

The state AZ has also lifted its COVID-era restrictions, with its Gov. Doug Ducey announcing on Thursday that the time had come. Among other markers, AZ now has over three million people vaccinated.

Also, in FL, Gov. Ron DeSantis refuses to lock down, despite pressure from local and federal officials to do so. FL’s numbers haven’t suffered due to the lack of locking down either.
