(Big League Politics) – Tuesday afternoon, a former Reagan and Bush 41 official named Bruce Bartlett, shared his views on President Donald Trump on Twitter by comparing him to Adolph Hitler.

Bartlett’s first tweet praised Hitler for serving “honorably” in the military, claimed Hitler was faithful to his wives and wrote his own book.

“Key differences between Donald Trump and Adolph Hitler–Hitler served honorably in the military, Trump didn’t; Hitler was faithful to his wife, Trump cheated on all his wives; Hitler wrote a book, Trump’s were all ghostwritten.”

He followed up this gem with another tweet defending his original tweet and further comparing Trump rallies to those of “Triumph of the Will” (Triumph des Willens) and posted a now unavailable video of the 1934 film.

“Anyone who really thinks a comparison between Trump and Hitler is absurd should watch “Triumph of the Will” and then watch one of Trump’s MAGA rallies. His rallies are easy to find. Fox runs them uncut.”

Twitter users were quick to call Bartlett out on the tasteless comparisons. Here are a few that stood out:

Michael Flynn Jr. (@mflynnJR) quote tweeted Bartlett and pointed out a pretty obvious issue with Bartlett’s comparisons, “Hitler killed 6 million Jews. Trump hasn’t.. But quality comparison there loser…”

Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) quote tweeted Bartlett saying, “Supporting Adolf Hitler to own the #MAGA. Amazing. You couldn’t make this up.”

Lisa (@Flyingright1) responded, “The TDS is very strong with you. Hint- it’s never a good idea to imply Hitler was an ok guy.”

Jeff Dunetz (@yidwithlid) tweeted, “comparison of Donald Trump to Hitler and/or the Nazis is false, inappropriate, and an example of careless writing. But even worse is the fact that the Holocaust was horrible, and hopefully one time ever event.”

Ranadicus #TwitchCon tweeted, “So just to clarify you’re officially on record stating that Hitler had some good ideas?”
