Florida state legislators approve a bill to implement new safety measures to prevent future school shootings.
The Florida House Appropriations Committee approved a bill Tuesday, which includes a $67 million weapons training program for teachers.
The program proposes putting at least 10 specialty trained teachers with concealed carry permits in every school.
The bill also includes provisions imposing a three day waiting period for gun purchases, and raising the age requirement to buy a gun from 18 to 21.
The Senate Appropriations Committee approved a similar bill earlier this week.
Both bills will now head to the full House and Senate for a vote.
